A B&B by the Romero family - your family in Cusco.
In a workshop environment, it is important to have a relationship with the people and the community you’re exploring – but also with the place you’re staying. The wonderful aspect to the PhotoExperience workshops is the opportunity to stay at Panza del Artista, a compound of two homes situated in the heart of one of the original neighborhoods of central Cusco.

Adam L. Weintraub, producer of the PhotoExperience workshops, has created a unique synthesis of family, freedom, comfort and community to offer the groups which stay at Panza. His interest in starting the workshops originated from his exploration of the real Cusco - the one that he has known for over 11 years - and his passion for photography to tell stories often overlooked.  Our home is ideally suited for portfolio reviews, evening slideshows or care-free conversations. This synergy of place and passion are found at Panza.

Panza is a five minute walk to the outdoor market and the train station to Machu Picchu – and just a ten minute walk into the main plaza.  Panza is concealed from the chaos of the main square and affords an ideal retreat from the crowds and commotion below. Perched on a ridge just above the market, most of our rooms and both our gardens have great light and open views to the surrounding mountain peaks. The gorgeous light continues to inspire each morning and evening from the grounds of the gardens or the reaches of the rooftop terrace.

A quiet coca tea or local organic café in the sun-drenched garden is the ideal morning moment to plan the day’s activities. Relax with a Cerveza Cusqueña at our courtyard’s two fire pits, amid the fruit trees, rose garden and fountain - truly your sanctuary and a great way to bring a peaceful transition to absorbing the day’s excursions and adventures. At Panza del Artista you feel immersed in a local’s world, where the creative soul or the restless spirit can find inspiration and comfort in this uniquely ancient city.
To the Incan culture, Cusco was the center of a larger empire.  To the traveler, Cusco is a base to explore the surrounding areas.

Panza ~ A home within an empire.

Our Rooms
Each of our five rooms has its own private bathroom and closet. Warm, hand-made Alpaca blankets and local rugs keep things cozy. All rooms have their own entrance, continuous hot water and new doors and windows to keep the evening’s mountain air out.  The large rooms have plenty of natural light and fresh mountain air.  We also have a larger suite ideal for a small group or family of 4-5 people.
